"Pink Surround"
Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera, Bahamas

I found the colors and shapes of this government building fascinating and attempted to photograph it numerous times in varied lights and from different angles. When I was working on this particular study a young girl walked up the stairs and into the building. I reacted by exclaiming, "you're wearing pink!" With little effort I persuaded her to stop for a moment. I didn't suggest that she adopt this charming pose and expression-that was her idea.
For some reason unknown to me little kids love this picture. Some of them stand in front of the picture talking to it. Others mimic her pose. Once I heard one explain in delight: "pinkies world!" Someday I imagine I'll find out what he was talking about.
